I am John A. Barnstead, an associate professor of Russian Studies at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. My areas of specialty are (1) the life and works of Russian poet Mikhail Alekseevich Kuzmin (1872-1936), (2) Russian themes and imagery in Canadian poetry, (3) Russian poetry in general, (4) the interrelationships of deixis, ekphrasis, and the chronotope in the visual arts, music, and literature, (5) Ukrainian syntax, and (6) selected British and American poets, particularly (at the moment) Elizabeth Bishop. I have an amateur interest in number theory and algebraic topology.
