Sabu James[1] is an Indian Cinematographer who works in Telugu and Malayalam movies. He is a graduate in Cinematography from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. He is known for Sonthavooru(Telugu - 2009) directed by Suneel Kumar Reddy, Sidharthan Enna Njan(Malayalam - 2019) and Chandrayaan (English - 2010) directed by Santhosh George Kulangara.
Early Life edit
Sabu James was born and brought up in Kottayam, Kerala. After doing masters in English Literature from Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam, he joined the Film and Television Institute of India(FTII), Pune to study Cinematography.
Career edit
After his graduation from FTII, he joined cinematographer Sunny Joseph's assisted him in the film Train to Pakistan(1998). He worked with cinematographer P C Sreeram in the films Shanti Shanti(Kannada - 1998) and Kadhalar Dhinam(Tamil - 1999). He has independently handled the cinematography of films like Sonthavooru(2009), Chandrayaan(2010), Gangaputrulu(2011), Nenem... Chin Pillana?(2013), Waiting for you(2013), Highway to Suva(2014), Oka Romantic Crime Katha(2014), Oka Criminal Prema Katha(2014), Sidharthan Enna Njan(2019), Welcome to Tihar College(2022), Oruvattam Koodi(2023). He has also directed the film Oruvattam Koodi(Malayalam - 2023).
