Denomination Functions
Association of Member Investigations Assists wikipedians in investigating disputes and compiling complaints and evidence to be used in the various steps of dispute resolution.
Association of Members' Advocates Assists in advocating, counseling, and protecting wikipedians in need. The AMA is an independent association and is not subject to any committees or other external controls.
Book Club A Wikipedia-oriented book club. Wikipedians will all read the same book, discuss it on IRC channel #bookclub.wikipedia, and write an article about it.
Cleanup Taskforce Its mission is to deal with cleanup issues, fact checking, and the growth of Wikipedia in an efficient manner through a network of Wikipedians, and to ensure that any given issue is always on at least one individual's "desk" at any time.
Community Justice Its mission is to make the community more fair and just towards all of its editors. An editor should not be denied any privilege on Wikipedia because of the morals, beliefs or personal preferences they display, unless by doing so they breach the Wikipedia's policies.
Counter Vandalism Unit Its mission is to help cleaning up vandalism on Wikipedia by producing tools to assist in removing vandalism, provide advice on dealing with vandals, and to share information with other wikipedians dealing with the same issues.
Department of Fun Its mission is to provide Wikipedians with an entertaining Wikipedia experience. It also collects links to fun pages or fun things to do, and produces ideas for activities or competitions.
Esperanza It is primarily involved in establishing and maintaining a support network for its members, who want to build a place where Wikipedians can go for hope and reassurance.
Forum for Encyclopedic Standards Its mission is to promote encyclopedic and scholarly standards and to build a vibrant community with a pool of expertise that will match any organization, corporation or university.
Harmonious editing club Its mission is to intervene in edit wars and work together to create a stable and neutral article, one which all parties to the edit war would agree is correct, good and satisfying.
Mottos' Committee Its mission is the development, application and integration of all Wikipedia new and old mottos, including those related to voluntary Wikipedian associations and organizations.
Recent changes patrol Its mission is to check recent changes on Wikipedia for harmful edits and to check and perform classification upon newly created pages. Both patrols are entirely voluntary and carry with them no obligation.
Typo Its mission is to make Wikipedia look more professional by fixing typos. It also collects links to free online spell checkers, internet dictionaries and lists of common misspellings.
Welcoming committee Its mission is to greet new users and help them get started. It created the Tutorial as a one-stop place to get basic information about contributing.
Wikistress Reduction Initiative Its mission is to reduce the psychological strain imposed by the Wikipedia project on its editors, and find new ways in order to lessen the emotional impact it has on project participants in order to ensure their continued participation and well-being.
