My name is Nuray Baltaci Akhuseyinoglu. I am a research assistant at the School of Information Sciences at University of Pittsburgh. My research interest includes information security related topics. Specifically I have been doing research in access control and mobile malware detection domains. I completed my master at the Informatics Institute at Middle East Technical University.

My master thesis was about developing an Android malware detection technique. Mobile malware, especially for Android platform, is continuing to grow mostly due to policies applied by official vendor and application market provider. By abusing those policies like flexible application publishing mechanism and user-based permission grant mechanism, cyber criminals perform attacks on Android devices easily. In my thesis, I proposed an Android malware detection method which is based on static approach and machine learning.

Currently, I am working on access control frameworks and models for cyber-physical systems and the Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Specifically, I am interested in developing frameworks which are based on attribute-based access control approach and tailor it according to the access control requirements of those systems.
