Neil Martin-Banks was born on 18th January 1972. He is an English actor and voice artist from Ealing, London and now lives in Stockholm, Sweden. He moved to Sweden in September 2005 to live with his wife, Anna.

After many years working as an actor in fringe theatre in London, Neil had the chance to give up his day job of 14 years with London Underground, in the spring of 2003, and tour Italy for 8 weeks with the theatre group A.C.L.E. [1]. This was a huge turning point in his life and career and has never since gone back to work full time behind a desk.

Neil Martin-Banks most of the time plays comedic character roles this, somewhat, comes as no surprise as his great uncle was the late comedy entertainer Arthur Haynes who, in his prime in the 1960's had his own show on prime time TV called The Arthur Haynes Show. Neil has worked mainly in English in Sweden but as recently as November 2009 he filmed an internal film with the acclaimed Swedish actor Olle Sarri [2]. The film was produced by a company based in Uppsala, Sweden, called Phosworks [3].

Neil's acting work in Sweden has been mainly in the form of voiceovers for commercials, dubbing and information films. The most notably was playing a football fan in a commercial for Stryktipset [4], opposite the well known Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgård, where he could use a combination of his acting skills with one of his passions, football (he supports Queens Park Rangers). In 2006 he dubbed for Playhouse Disney's The Treehouse.

His most notable appearances on Swedish television have been on the hit TV series Hjälp! [5](produced by Jarowskij and directed by Swedish TV celebrity Anders S. Nilsson [6] where he played a hotel guest, Marvin Smith, opposite Swedish comedy actor Johan Rheborg [7] and his character Örjan Lax. In the spring of 2010 Neil will be seen playing opposite the acclaimed Swedish actress Sissela Kyle in Jarowskij's new comedy sketch series called Välkommen Åter! [8] which is to be shown on TV4.

Before moving to Sweden, Neil worked notably on TV shows Alan Partridge and The Frank Skinner Show. In The Frank Skinner Show, Neil played a character in a sketch called Jeff. The comedy sketch was a take on the quiz show The Weakest Link where Frank Skinner played the quiz host Ann Robinson.
