Luigi Caccavo (born 3 February 2004) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Serie A club Torino.
Career edit
Born in Bari, Italy, Caccavo was part of the youth sector of Inter Milan.[1] He signed his first professional contract with Monza in July 2020.[2] During the 2020–21 season, Caccavo scored 10 goals in 17 games with the under-18s,[3] and one goal in six Campionato Primavera 2 games with the under-19s.[1] He was first called up to the senior team on 20 October 2020, in Monza's Serie B game against Pisa.[4]
On 31 August 2022, Torino announced the signing of Caccavo to their youth sector on a permanent deal.[5] Initially part of the under-18s, Caccavo played the 2021–22 season with the under-19s in the Campionato Primavera 1, scoring six goals.[6] In July 2022, his contract was extended until 2025.[6]
Style of play edit
Caccavo is a 1.90 m (6 ft 3 in)-tall striker, who's main characteristics are his hold-up play and ball retention, which allow his teammates to find more attacking space.[1] Due to his height, he is also adept in aerial play, and has good finishing.[1]
