paragpur is a village in the jalandhar district of punjab , india. it is situated on national highway no.1 , 8 km east of jalandhar city. paragpur village now lies within the municipal boundries of jalandhar city. there are 3 main settlements in the vilaage. the central part inhabited by jatt-sikh people and 2 sattelite settlements are of schedule cast people. tutt and boparai are the surnames of jatt-sikh residents of the village. paragpur is one of the richest village of doaba and punjab. it has 2 hotels ,mcdonalds, KFC restaurant and many other celebrating places and banquet halls. paragpur also has a big gas-station. people from paragpur have settled all over the world ,mainly in UK, USA, canada. the village is full of NRI'S and they have a significant contribution towards the development of the village.
