Lynn Jenner was born in New Zealand and has lived there all her life. As a child, she enjoyed writing, until the discovery of 'real' literature at age 12 stopped her in her tracks. She trained as a educational psychologist and 'read a lot'.

She returned to writing at the age of 49, joining Whitireia Polytechnic's Creative Writing Course, under the tuition of Renee. She completed the Advanced Diploma in Poetry in 2007 [1].

In 2008, she completed the MA in Creative Writing at the International Institute for Modern Letters at Victoria University of Wellington. Her tutor was the respected poet Bill Manhire. Her output during that year was a mixed genre work of poetry, prose, found text and visual images concerning the life and times of Harry Houdini, entitled Dear Sweet Harry and it won the Adam Prize for outstanding folio. Examiners praised it as "an extraordinary piece of writing".[2].

During 2008, Lynn’s poem The Look and Feel of 1963 was published in 4th Floor, the literary publication of Whitireia Polytechnic. Womens Business and another of her poems, The Day Before the Battle of the Somme, both from Dear Sweet Harry were published in Turbine 08. [3].

Dear Sweet Harry was published by Auckland University Press in 2010. A review of the book by Hugh Roberts in The Listener of July 31, 2010 says:

"...Teasing, funny, mysterious, impressionistic, utterly impossible to classify or to characterise by quotation or analogy - it is simply exhilarating to read...poetry that is pushing at the boundaries of what we think poetry can be, or do; poetry that is unafraid to tackle difficult and important questions...I can't wait to see what Jenner does next".

Lynn Jenner is married and has one son. She lives on the Kapiti Coast.
