The Phoenix Files (Book Series) The Phoenix Files is a series of six adventure/mystery novels for teenagers written by Australian author Chris Morphew. The books chronicle the adventures of three teenagers as they try to stop an organisation from destroying the entire human race.

Phoenix edit

Phoenix is the fictional town in which the books are set.It is an invite only town in the middle of Australia for people and their families who work for the Shackleton Co-operative. The population is two thousand. It has a park, a security centre, an office complex, a medical centre, a mall, a high school and a primary school. Instead of police Phoenix has security guards who work for the Shackleton Co-operative. In the first book the main characters discover it is surrounded by a concrete wall cealing everybody in.

Arrival edit

Arrival is the first of the six books and is written from Luke's point of view as he arrives in Phoenix. Soon into the book he meets Peter Weir who has lived in phoenix for several months. Luke voices his opinion about the town been creppy and that something isn't right. Luke soon meets Jordan after somebody left her memory stick with a muddled file on it in his bedroom. They soon discover that the same person put his memory stick with another muddled file on it in her bedroom. Peter joins the two files that turn out to be two halves of a recording. The recording is someone talking about "Tabitha" which is the codename for the virus they are going to release. The recording also tells them they have one hundred days until it's released. They believe that the Shackleton Co-operative is behind it.They meet up with a homeless man who apparantly knows about. When security shows up the homeless man go's wild and starts attacking the security guards and even chucks one through the air. They also discover a warehouse full of supplies and fake magazines and newspapers. They then discover a giant wall surrounding the town. The book ends when they are in a park eating lunch when a phone rings which is unusal because the internet and phone connections havn't been working ever since Luke arrived.

Contact edit

Contact is the second book in the series and is written from Peter's point of view. It begins were the first one left off. They chase the person but lose them. To keep them from finding out more Ms Pryor, the principal, who is in on the plan appoints them staff-student liasion officers. During one meeting a phone goes off in Pryor's desk. They sneak in one day and take it.

Luke was born in sydney to parents Jack and Emily Hunter. Thanks to his parents' ever advancing corporate careers Luke's childhood was spread across four cities and six different schools. As a result, Luke has become skilled at quickly settling into new enviroments and analyzing their inner workings. By Luke's 15th birthday, the Hunters had returned to Sydney and Luke's parents had announced their intention to divorce. Almost immedietly after the divorce was finalised, Luke's mother was offered a job by the Shackleton Co-operative. The arrival of luke and hus mother in Phoenix has allegedly triggered a hundred day countdown to the unleashing of an enigmatic force known as "Tabitha" - a force powerful enough to eradicate the entire human race outside of Phoenix.
