The name was not created exclusively for Wikipedia, but was first created in 2001 when the email address nathan192001@hotmail.com was registered with the MSN Hotmail service. The name derives from the fusion of the user's Christian name, the britpop band Gorillaz's 2001 single "19-2000", and the year the account was registered. Nathan192001 is in the currently-defunct Australia rock band The Untitled, due to contact restraints. However, the band and its material can be viewed at their website.
In 2005, after The Untitled's disaterious first session, which resulted in their E.P. "Reversity", the band split up temporarily because of contact restraints. However, brainstorming and sessions continued over the internet via MSN Messenger. Nathan192001 and a bandmate decided to experiment with Sony ACID Pro. The result was "Mullet", a homage to the bandmate's catchcall, but also a nod to the mullets that are associated with bogans. This song can be viewed at the website given in the previous paragraph.

Nathan192001 is also known among his peers as an avid fan of Nintendo, renowned video games software and hardware creators. He has purchased every single Nintendo home console since the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. He is a firm "believer" in Nintendo's soon-to-be-released home console, Wii. Though he is mostly interested in Nintendo-produced video games, he also has interest in other video game production companies, such as Square-Enix and Capcom.
