Though I mostly edit science and math pages, many of my page edits are spelling or grammatical corrections.
Proper grammar and spelling are important for the following reasons:
- Poor grammar and misspelled words destroy an author's credibility.
- Spelling and grammar can make a statement clear when used properly or ambiguous when they are not.
- Misspelled words are particularly distracting when reading any article.
- Wikipedia is an educational resource, and the people who contribute to it should at least pretend to be educated.
