High Performance Smart Phone

High performance Smart Phone (HPSP) is a newly founded term derived from HPC (High performance Computing). Currently, Nvidia, Texas instruments and Qualcomm are leading the industry, with quad core CPU's planned to be released on Q4 of 2011.

The first true HPSP is vastly considered to be the the Motorola Xoom which was released on February 24, 2011, and was chosen by CNET.com named it the "Best of the CES" 2011.

since then there where several devices worthy of the title HPSP, and was namely based on the Tegra 2, Tegra 2 3D and OMAP4430;

the future holds much to be expected with the Tegra 3, which will be an incremental step and Tegra4 which will be a leap with quad core 2 GHZ capabilities.
