This is an alternative account. My main account is linked to my real name. I wish to use this account to do things I cannot have linked back to me;
- I am physically male. Under this account, I will go by the given name Iona and use female pronouns. I am either genderfluid or trans; haven't figured that out yet. So, for starters, it is unsafe to reveal such on my main account and I will use this one for female identity. (A close friend has a relative who has figured out their story and identity; she tells me I could be working this out for years. This detail alone is obviously highly sensitive and should never be linked to my irl identity.)
- I wish to edit various topics that may be 'frowned upon'. Spurious things like topics related to sex and pornography; serious things like topics related to feminism and LGBT stuff. The former is embarrassing; the latter is extremely sensitive as, despite my interest and their relevance to my difficult personal circumstances, I'm actually not that knowledgeable and want to keep toxic fringe elements away. Additionally, I generally don't want such things linked directly to me in any volume.
- I more broadly want to edit things on various things I associate more closely with my female identity than my male one. So there might be a variety of apparently uncontroversial topics touched upon that, between them, build up an unfamiliar picture of me. I am not out, beyond a solitary person, irl. One friend, no family, certainly nothing else.
If individual communities are uncomfortable with the multi-account thing, politely-phrased expressions will not cause offence. I will assuage them as best I can. I understand if there may become a time when it becomes possible a community wishes me to identify to a trusted position. I don't know how we might go about identifying a mutually-acceptable person; but, we can discuss it if the need arises and try to figure something out.
I will try and avoid !voting, although it may occur in the context of, say, deletion discussions on items relevant to my identity under this account. Or people I encounter and come to know while editing under this identity.
I've a good idea of my way around WMF, but not all that good. Template messages are welcome.
