Anuradha Koirala is founder and director of Maiti Nepal . she is the first Nepali women to win CNN Hero of the Year 2010 for her courageous work and effort.

She is dedicated to help the victim of Sex trafficking in Nepal. Most of the people in rural area of nepal are the victim of Sex trafficking. Younger girls are mostly viticm of sex trafficking because they are offered with various goods and job oppurtunity. Anuradha koirala has played a huge role on rescuing womens from brothels of India.

Maiti Nepal operates rehabitation home in kathmandu and many of the Indo-Nepal border towns. ("Maiti" means mother's home in Nepali) has been a refuge for women who are rescued from brothels of India. Maiti Nepal provides different facility to the women who have been saved from the brothels of India. Womens in maiti Nepal are provided with different facility such as tailoring, cleaning and many more so, that in near future they would get a job of their own. Between 1993-2011 she and her organization has rescued over 12000 women and girls. she is loved and respected by every Nepelease.
