About Me edit
I am David, a 65 yr old retired state government attorney and state police officer who un-retired in 2015 to go back to work for the state. I used Wikipedia pretty regularly when I worked before and still use it now and then to come up to speed on esoteric matters and for purely personal interests too. I am still figuring out being a Wikipedia contributor and don't do a lot of editing, but when I see an article that I think needs updating it's hard to resist. Pointers welcomed; criticisms accepted; flames laughed at. Remember that at one point in time even the most proficient practitioner was a novice trying to figure out how it all worked.
My Interests edit
I like to ride my Harley-Davidson, target shoot, go on cruises, and build scale models. FSU baseball is a passion. The best thing about retirement was that I was able to spend more time on my motorcycle (a 2013 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Limited). I'm in a police motorcycle club (The Blue Knights) and a Jewish motorcycle club (Canaan Cruisers of Tallahassee-an affiliate of the Jewish Motorcyclists Alliance). I'm interested in military history and like to visit Civil War forts and battlefields on motorcycle trips. My best experiences include touring the Gettysburg Battlefield with National Park Service Chief Historian Emeritus Ed Bearss, going on an Alaskan cruise, and seeing the 18th century St. Thomas Synagogue in St. Thomas Virgin Islands where I got married to my bershert. I am an avid reader and trivia buff. I don't pretend to be an expert on how to edit Wikipedia pages but one of the entries on my "Retirement To Do List" was to become a Wikipedia maven. It hasn't happened yet, but hope springs eternal.
