THE STORY SINCE 2000


Abhirup Ghosh, born in 25/01/2000 is an Indian professional footballer, who is going to play for the RFC football academy in Bangalore .His residence is in West Bengal , Kolkata. From the age of 6 he is playing football under his fathers football camp, his father Mr. Tapan Kr Ghosh is Himself a football coach running a football camp for Grass root players, he trains them and provide them better opportunity for achieving their goals in life. He started playing football in his fathers camp MFCC(morning football coaching camp), he used to score goals from unexpected range and power which was not expected from a player of 6 years, then he started playing local tournaments and showed his skills, talents and strength against players much elder to him and impressed the guests and local people. parents sent him to a boarding school in the year 2013 and he again repeated his 8th grade studies, he started playing for the school team and everyone was impressed by his game in the school, in his holidays he used to go home and worked hard with his father. . In his Puja vacations when his parents came to take him back to home they said that he was being scouted by one of the officials from the Mohan Bagan Football Club under 14 and they wanted him to go for the trials and play for them. He went for the trials and was selected and that was his first big club for whom he was going to perform but unfortunately he was badly injured and his right collar bone was broken and he missed his first under 14 I-League. . He talked with his parents convinced them and he talked with the school management and changed his course from hostellers to day scholar, he again started practicing after his schools and he got chance in Arunadoy Club a 5th division Team of CFL (Calcutta football League), his outstanding skills made him enter the first eleven squad as a RB (Right Back). The team was in the top and was having a record of being unbeaten, in the 14th match of the League he scored on a free kick which was 35yards away from the goal line and everyone was shocked that a 15 years old boy scored a goal from 35yrds away from goal. Beside playing football he was also studying and he gave his boards exams of 10th grade and got 69.4% and got promoted to class XI . He took admission in St. Joseph and Marys school and started playing for the school team, they started getting prepared for the Debanjan Sen Foundation Cup. The school team was perfect but the Goalkeeper was not up to the mark because the keeper was not fit enough to play so Abhirup started showing him some techniques for improving the keepers skill, after having a look in that the school management said him to play as a goalkeeper and he proved that he can play as a goal keeper too. In the tournament the school provided him gloves and all equipments that a goalkeeper needs, they were out in the round of sixteen and he was selected in the ALL-STARS XI team as a goalkeeper. He played for the ALL STARS XI team and by his outstanding performance they promised him that they will help him in any of his problem and they said that they will be in research of better opportunities for him. Abhirup was nominated for the BEHALA SHREE award and he said to the audience that without his fathers support and Debanjen Sen Foundations support he would not have reached to this level. Then he signed the mayors Cup and they were up to the semi finals and they lost in that stage, he was playing as a CB ,in every match he had an assist on throws he showed excellent strength by the side linr throws over 25 yards, then he signed West Bengal United in Kolkata and he was in Reserve all over the season which lead him to depression and he decided of leaving football and study well for his further life. Then he went Uttar Pradesh with his brother for his further education and he again involved himself in game, he started playing for sun shine academy and he got scouted from a Elite division Club from Mumbai and he was offered a one year contract from the team. His mother was ill having some heart problem so his family went to Bangalore for her check up and he saw a page called RFC in his social media site, he contacted the academy and talked with them about the trials and all. He came back Kolkata with his mother and his family after her surgery and contacted the academy again, one of the management people named Nikhil helped him and said to come for the trials in Bangalore again. At that time their was a huge problem of tickets, as it is a patient route from Kolkata to Bangalore so he was not able to book any railway tickets, then somehow he booked air tickets and he went to Bangalore for his trials. The first day of the trial only he got injured and he had a right side rib fracture and was unable to attain the rest of the sessions, the last practice day with his injury he said that he will play and he scored a number of goals and he impressed the management of RFC. Then he had a one on one Conversation with the CEO of the team and said about all his family problems and how he struggled hard to become a footballer and they were ready to give him a full scholarship and sponsorship and will be having a paid contractual signing for one year. He is looking Forward to play for the Kerala Blasters ISL youth team .

Only 4 Members are their in his family , his mom ,dad ,brother and Abhirup .He said the the way he has seen his parents and brother sacrificing their works and comfort just to give him proper care and things he need and they look after his comfort as no one did. Before asking for things he used to get want he wants. He is having a very few number of friends and he dosent goes for outings randomly.His Family support is the strongest thing he have ever got ever and he said that he consider his family in the list of his best friends too. He started going to Gym and made a number of friends and he got someone very special who used to care him like his own elder brother,used to guide him in studies and in gym and his guidelines are one of the key of success for him. He also have a close friend of his who helps him anytime , they are having a friendship of 6 years.
