Euclid D. Farnham

Euclid Durkee Farnham (November 18, 1933–) is an American dairy farmer, author, historian, and film actor from Vermont. He is well known in Vermont and New Hampshire as a prominent local historian, author, and Civil War preservationist[1]. He appeared in several movies directed by Vermont filmmaker John O'Brien, including Man with a Plan and Nosey Parker, but he is featured most prominently in Vermont is for Lovers. He has represented the town of Tunbridge in almost every office, from lister, church officer and treasurer, to selectman and town moderator (an office which he has held since 1981). He is one of Tunbridge's Justices of the Peace. His long service for both town and county earned him a Vermont Public Service Award in 2005[2].

Farnham was born at Gifford hospital in Randolph, Vermont to William and Alice (Durkee) Farnham. Farnham took over the family farm in Tunbridge, Vermont from his parents and ran it until his retirement. He has lived there all his life, except for his service in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Fair involvement edit

For over thirty years he has been heavily involved with the Tunbridge World's Fair, holding the office of Director since 1969 and President for thirty one years (19782009)[3]. Farnham is largely credited with efforts to reinvent the fair as a family friendly event.
