Production edit

Animals was based upon a short film by Drake title Where Were You which was entered into Movie Extra’s 2011 ‘WebFest’ competition, making it to the final 15 with a chance of winning $50,000.[3] Animals is written, directed and co-produced by Edward Drake, co-written and co-produced by Joel Mitchell. Principal photography began on January 14 2012 and entered post-production on March 12th. "Animals" is the film adaptation of Drake's web series "Where Were You". [4]

Plot edit

Four years after a pandemic, Marcus Young (David Lamb), launches a courageous bid to rescue his former lover Maddie (Rio Howard) from the perils of the Red Zone. Shifting back and forth in time between them falling in and out of love, and the present day situation, Animals explores the ways our ethics and morals quickly fall to the wayside in times of chaos and war.[5] [6]
