Crisford Chogugudza was born in Mazowe, Mashonaland, Zimbabwe in 1968. He trained in Journalism, International Development and Social Work. He lives in London, United Kingdom. A PhD holder from the University of London, Royal Holloway, UK, Crisford attended the London School of Journalism, London South Bank University, University of Zimbabwe and Northwestern University, Chicago, USA. He has also worked as a Research Officer/Research Assistant for the Embassy of Japan, UNICEF and a number of international organisations in Zimbabwe in the 1990s before emigrating to the United Kingdom. Crisford is a Christian and holds politically liberal views. He believes in and is a campaigner of African Renaissance and leadership renewal. He subscribes to the view that Africa is not 'poor' but has a massive leadership crisis. Crisford has published several media articles on African political issues.
