North Forsyth High School is a public high school located in Cumming, Georgia a suburb northeast of Atlanta, Georgia. The school is located at 3635 Coal Mountain Drive, Cumming, Georgia 30041. It is 1 of 5 high schools in the Forsyth County School District, and serves students residing in Cumming, Georgia. It is the largest of all the Forsyth County high schools.

editNorth has an approximate enrollment of 2,000 (as of Summer 2008). The student body is 90.77% White, 6.90% Hispanic, 0.65% Asian, 0.65% Black, 0.20 % Native American, and 0.84% Multiracial.
History

editBuilt in 1981 as a Junior High in the northwestern part of Forsyth County, the school evolved into a middle school and eventually becoming a high school in 1994. The school has 2 gymnasiums, an artificial turf field used for football, soccer, and lacrosse, practice fields, baseball complex, softball complex, four tennis courts, and a separate performing arts center. The last addition to the school was in 2007. This addition created a whole new wing on the school.

editNorth Forsyth currently competes in Region 7-AAAAA and has since 2006.[1][2] NFHS has 16 varsity sports for boys and girls. The school fields junior varsity teams for most sports and freshmen teams in football, basketball, baseball, and lacrosse. The school is a member of the Georgia High School Association.
MCJROTC
editNorth Forsyth has the only ROTC program in the county, and is run by SMI Major Kelly; and MI Gunnery Sgt. Snook. It is based on the United States Marine Corps.North Forsyth's MCJROTC has been awarded National Navy Honor School 3 years in a row.
