The databases

edit

The Big Database, that's the name used in the site, contains more than 3.5 million games, played by more than 200,000 chess players in more than 38,000 tournaments.[4]

365Chess.com also offers the Masters Database. It is a smaller database of games played by elite opponents of more than 2400 ELO points.[5]

Site Supporters can upload their chess games and create a personal database called "My Games".[6] Once the database is created, the player can analyze his repertoire with the Opening Explorer and have a clear sight of his performance with white or black pieces.

This data is accessible through different tools like the Chess Opening Explorer, the Search Position tool or the games can be downloaded as PGN.

Features

edit

365Chess.com has developed several tools for its members, including the followings.

The databases can be searched by players, opening, ECO code, result or year played. Members can bookmark the result for further reference or download the games in PGN notation.[7] [8]

The Chess Opening Explorer shows performance statistics of each position played in the database. This statistics includes the number of games in the database for each possible continuation and wins, losses and draws. At any time the visitor can search for all the games containing the position displayed. [9] [10]

The Search for a position tool searches for a given position in the database. Members can import a PGN game or a position in FEN notation and look for it in the entire database.

The Player's Repertoire Explorer allows to study and follow a player's repertoire with white or black pieces and analyze what does he plays at each position.

365Chess.com also offers an extensive database of Chess Problems and Compositions. The Chess Problems is a collection of computer generated puzzles from real games. Solving these problems will test and train member's tactical abilities.[11]

The Chess Compositions is a collection of problems created by recognized composers of all the times. In these problems the pieces are set in a particular position and the goal is to achieve a given task like giving mate in 2 against any possible defence.[12]
