MarzSilver and Syky are a rap duo from Manchester United Kingdom, consisting of Marcio “MarzSilver” Miguel, born in Angola, Viana on the 16th November 1992 and Phillip “Syky” Masinga, born in Malawi, Blantyre on the 4th April 1995. Their first major release was the track “100” currently uploaded on Youtube on the 11th of May 2016 and other platforms such as Spotify and Itunes, where they have made their first 12 thousand streams that motivated the due to keep working hard for their music career’s success. The due are known for making impact on the Manchester underground scene with their music talent, punch lines and catchy chorus. One of the biggest potential of the due is that they have learnt how to work on their talent without any label deal, such as record their music, mix and mastering, shooting their own videos, edit and promote their music on social media and more.

2015 - 2016: FORMATION AND CARRER BEGINNINGS

In the summer of 2014, Syky and Marzsilver met at a local party where they started talking and found out that they both do music. At the time, Marzsilver was only a producer with no idea that he will get behind the mic. After talking for a while, they both decided to meet up and work on some songs which lead to a song called “No one else” in 2015 but was later released in 2016. During this time, they both had different groups that they were working with but they all became friends. After the first song, Marzsilver decided to try out rapping and they worked on a second song called “100” in 2016 which boosted the spirits of both artists. They then built a relationship after a while as they both worked together and decided to make a joint mixtape. A lot of songs were recorded but ended up loosing all them because Marzsilvers laptop broke down and wiped out all the projects.

2016 - 2018: THEIR WAY TO SUCCESS

In 2016 after loosing the joint mixtape, the two artists were still working individually with their other teams but they still supported each other as they had built a relationship now and live in the same hood. That summer of 2016 sparked the light again between the two artists as one day at a bbq that Marzsilver was hosting, they started playing beats which lead them to one particular type they both liked and decided to do something with it. That day as everyone was outside enjoying the bbq, Syky decided to stay in and record hence the beginning of the dual and the artists working together again on a project. The hook for “bad one” was only recorded that day as there was a lot of distraction but still when Marzsilver heard the hook, he already wanted to jump on the mic. At that time Marzsilver was into trap and never done a singing song before which was a new experience and discovered a new side of him that he liked. They then both stopped working with their teams at about the same time due to some reasons and after a night out in Liverpool with one of their close friend and brother Ed, they went to the studio the next day and started looking for beats. After they came across the one they liked, it was then easy as they all had stories from the previous night still fresh in their minds and while talking about it, they decided to make a song about it. This lead to the song “Put in work” which is one of their best work of many other hit songs they’ve worked on so far. After that, the energy and connection between the two artists started flowing and started seeing improvements with their music and also careers. They then started recording more songs together as they seen that they had a different type of buzz together which people liked and then decided to become a dual as they both worked good together. At this time, more shows started coming and a lot more people started recognising the two artists and their music. Even though they hadn’t put out a lot of music people still knew about them because they were still active with the shows and the reaction of the crowd made them work even more as they loved the music and supported. They then had a couple people approaching them to work together as managers and signing but that never really went far. Even though this happened, it boosted both spirits up as they seen that they have the potential and seen the vision of what could be.

In 2017 the two artists spent the whole year recording singles and planing videos but while doing this, they still had shows and other people they worked with in their team. Even though they worked together as a team, there was still also a team that they both have and still work with and most of which you might hear on features or see in videos.

In 2018, the dual started to release songs and music videos which got them recognition in the music scene. They both released songs together plus also singles and say that there is a lot more projects that they are working on soon to be released this year. They also said they plan to work with a few other artists on some crazy features and the videos are going to be like you watching a movie that you like to watch over and over again but still never get tired of it. They also said we will be seeing a lot of them at shows, tv, online and will be hearing a lot from them on the radio from this year onwards.
