Foodporndaily1[1] on Instagram[2] first started in March 2012 with Sydney Burger of Rockville, Maryland[3]. Sydney began the account due to her love and passion of food, and it was more of a joke than anything else. Sydney would post pictures of foods she made in her kitchen, foods other people sent her, and so on. It was not until a few months later in October 2012 that Sydney added friends Marci Weiss and Jessica Gloger of Potomac, Maryland[4] on to be domains of the account as well. Since then, Foodporndaily1 has gained traction in the foodie scene gaining over 105,000 followers.

After original owner Sydney Burger added Weiss and Gloger onto the account, it was decided that other foodie friends would join in on the account action. Jill Kushner of Potomac, Maryland[5] and Sydney Fleisher of Weston, Florida[6] would be apart of the account beginning in February of 2014 in hopes of boosting a following with daily postings.

Foodporndaily1's business model is simple and a common one in the Instagram blogger world. People will send in pictures through Instagram's Direct Message feature, which allows communication through a mail messenger. This is where people will send pictures of foods they have eaten in hopes of being re-posted. Foodporndaily1 gives credit to whoever takes the picture they are posting and also tags[7] them in the post.

Foodporndaily1 also claims the popular #foodporndaily1 hashtag, and this is another way Instagrammer's can submit photos to be reposted. The hashtag has been used over 143,530 times since the accounts origins.

In 2015 the accounts primary owner Sydney Burger decided to end her career of food posting and work on her career as a solo rap artist[8] in 2015. Burger gave ownership to Weiss and Gloger, who still work closely with Kushner and Fleisher on daily posting and interacting with the public.

The group still posts daily pictures and often communicates with restaurants and businesses on deals. Most often, the deals will consist of a post on their account in exchange for a free meal. The monetization of the account has not yet taken off, but Weiss and Gloger hope that by 2018, they will work closer with restaurants and businesses on monetizing the account.
