However, spoken Indian English is distinct from written Indian English; please read Formal written English. Devanagari spell check bot =

Hi Mahitgar, I responded to your query on the about a spell check bot, but I didn't see your userpage here until now. You should provide links from each to your userpage on your most active project. I don't have the skills to write a spell check bot but it would be great to have. Aspell and Freedict would be a good start, as the first has a Hindi, Marathi, etc wordlist and the second has a Hindi-English and eng-hin dictionary, and presumably other languages. Aspell could probably form the basis of a spell checking bot. You could also try posting on Wikipedia:Bot_requests to see if someone there is willing to put the bot together. fair use Wikipedia namespace issue

• Please, follow following discussion regarding namespace for the article I created.I donot know and can not spend time for wiki's administrative policing and jugglary, please help me out by moving following article with right name at right place.

I have moved Fair use/India to Wikipedia:WikiProject India/Fair use. It seemed rather ill-formed for an article in the (Main) namespace. If you think it should be re-instated, please ensure that: a) it has a more sensible title, b) it begins with a proper context, explaining what the article is about and c) it is a proper article and not simply a copy of source material. -- RHaworth 11:26, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your concern, and I do not mind your action either. Only I want to retain the category 'Indian Law'.

While there is already an article in name of 'Fair use' related to simmiller American Law.

• While I am aware of Wikipedia Policies ,I uploaded as it was with me because it is more a Law related subject and still a priority for all India Language Wikipedias.
• Indian Portal on English Wikipedia is having more Law experts who can give better justice to this subject.
• The thing which makes me uncomfortable on english wikipedia is at times these edits come too fast and do not leave enough time for a persons who wants to build it rather at a steady space.

Now you point it out, I agree, we need more than one article: Fair use, Fair use under United States law, Fair use under Indian law, etc. It is just that I felt that your article was not quite ready to become the Fair use under Indian law article. Regarding speed of edits here at en: - one thing you can do is to create your articles in User:Mahitgar/sandbox until you feel ready to release them to the eyes of new page patrollers.

You also need to point out somewhere that even though a Wikipedia article may have an Indian subject, it is the law applicable to Florida that governs copyright/fair use considerations for that article. -- RHaworth 16:12, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I am quite agree with RHaworth that rather creating Fair use/India, it would be better to have like Fair use under Indian Law or any other if you want to write an article on it. If you have any important concern to create Fair use/India which is the subpage of Fair use, then please let me know. Ambedkar article

I am contacting you regarding a dispute on the Indo Greek article. I wanted to bring to your attention the map that is posted on the article, given your interest in Maharashtrian culture. One of the users has patched together a group of questionable maps to show that the indo greeks expanded into the the gangetic plain, Madhya Pradesh, and even Maharashtra. While there is much uncertainty clouding that era in Indian history, even the most liberal historian will not show such a projection. Moreover, that user aggrandizes the influence of greece on India and has conducted much original research. As such, please consider lending your support in putting and end to these sneaky edits and brazen npov violations.

Dear User Mahitgar, don't take it offensively, but your introduction paragraph in Religious violence in India article can raise some questions. Your edit is:

• The whole paragraph is a single sentence and is quite uneasy to understand. Please consider breaking the paragraph in fragments.

• There are some grammartical mistakes.

मराठी मे लेखन शुद्धी के बारे मे

प्रिय मित्र, समजाने के लिये बहुत धन्यवाद। मेरी टप्पणी सुझाव ही थी। मेरी मातृभाषा चेक है, मैं तीन सालों से हिंदी सीखता हूँ लेकिन मराठी मुझे बिल्कुल आती नहीं, लेकिन मराठी विकिपीडिया मराठी बोलनेवाले लोगों के लिये है। जब मराठी में नुक्तेवाले अक्षरों का प्रयोग किया जाता नहीं है तो उस अक्षर का प्रयोग करें जो उच्चारण से हिंदी “ज़” व्यंजन से सबसे अधिक मिलता-जुलता है। सच तो पूछिये चेक से मराठी में लिप्यंतरण कभी सही हो न सकता है। उदाह्रण के लिये “T” व्यंजन “VÍTĚZÍ” में तालव्य है लेकिन ऐसा ध्वनिग्राम किसी आर्य भाषा में मिलता नहीं। इसीलिये “ते” का इस्तेमाल करना ठीक है। उस पर चेक गणराज्य के राष्ट्रपति के नाम का उच्चारण “वात्स्लव्ह” है लेकिन आपको उसका नाम ऐसी तरह से लिखना है जिस तरह से वह मरीठी समाचार‌-पत्र में लिखा जाता है। इसीलिये मैं कोई सुझाव न दिया। --Zdeněk Wagner (talk) 09:54, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

प्रिय मित्र, मैं सोचता हूँ कि आप सही बात करते नहीं हैं। «ट» तालव्य नहीं होता है, लेकिन मूर्धन्य होता है। तुलना दें: «न» दंत्य होता है, «ण» मूर्धन्य होता है, «ञ» तालव्य होता है। चेक में मूर्धन्य व्यंजन मिलते नहीं हैं। अंग्रेज़ी T मूर्धन्य होता है लेकिन चेक तथा स्लोवाक T हमेशा दंत्य होता है। चेक में पांच तालव्य व्यंजन हैं:

• Č, देवनागरी में: च
• Ž, वह हिंदी शब्दकोशों में «श़» ऐसे लिखा जाता है और इसका उच्चारण अंग्रेज़ी pleasure से मिलता-जुलता है
• Ď (घोष अल्पप्राण)
• Ť (अघोष अल्पप्राण)
• Ň (अनुनासिक)

Admin on Marathi Wikipedia

Hello there Mahitgar. Are you an admin on Marathi Wikipedia? I see that you are on the Wikimedia India mailing list. Per my comment on the mailing list, can you check the Australian cricket articles on Wikipedia, because I think a bot created them all by mistake or something. I went to Don Tallon and Ernie Toshack on englsh, went on the the Marathi interwiki, and then checked many articles in the Australian cricket cat. All of them seem to have the same text " उदाहरणादाखल सचिन तेंडुलकर हा लेख पहा", a stub template, and an empty infobx. The text seems to send everyone to Tendulkar's article. • Mahitgar, please realize that at RfD, we are not discussing the importance (or lack thereof) of the topic (in fact, writing a cited article to replace the redirect in the first place is encouraged): we are discussing whether or not the purposes of keeping a redirect (which has no information about the topic) are valid, and whether the redirect itself is valid. Should this redirect be deleted, it wouldn't be because we don't think the topic is important enough for an article: it would be deleted because it's a redirect out of article space to a Wikipedia: (with a colon) page, which is discouraged in the project. Mangal Font

Mangal Font is first Indian Open Source font,tends to be most used font for Devanagari Script on interenet being Unicode compatible and rendered by Microsoft products.Mangal Font was created at C-DAC under leadership of Typorapher & Professor Raghunath k. Joshi. Microsoft adopted this font version 1.20 for its windows 2000 onward products .Windows XP, Windows XP SP2 renders this font along with true type outline.Mangal Font has 675 Glyphs Mangal is an OpenType font for the Indic script - Devanagari. It is based on Unicode, contains TrueType outlines and has been designed for use as a UI font.[1]

Mangal name was chosen by the typographer Professor Raghunath k. Joshi since it Mangal was his wifes name.

How to localize word "references"

{{helpme}} I do not know if this talk page is right place to ask this help question. Undersigned would like to localise <ref> </ref> and <references/> tags for Marathi language wiki projects <ref> </ref> to <संदर्भ> </संदर्भ> and <references/> to <संदर्भ/>

Having looked into this, as far as I can tell, it has not been done. For example, I checked on the Japanese Wikipedia, and they still use 'ref' in English;

I asked around, and was told that the best approach might be to make a request via Bugzilla. This is a forum for advising about bugs with the wiki software, but also to ask for enhancements. I do not have an account there myself, but if you wish to pursue the request, perhaps you could create one yourself and ask there. See Wikipedia:Bug reports and feature requests. Bugzilla would be the way to go about making localization of these tag names an option supported by Mediawiki. Action via that route can be slow and uncertain, though. If you wish to do this localization as a locally-supported change, you would modify the Cite_body.php file in the extensions/Cite directory on your installed wiki. Help needed for Hindi Wiki

Hi Mahitgar,

I am an active Hindi wiki contributor and often visit to English as well as Marathi wikis. I have seen you as an active member of all these wikis. We at Hindi wiki are short of contributors with technical know how for creating bots. Do you know how to create a bot for some regular work for maintaining the quality of the wiki. I know there are several on English wiki and I can do a bot request. But generally what happens is people from other countries reply to the bot request and are several times reluctant to create a bot for a language which they can not even read. So if you have any experience in creating/maintaing any bot please help us. Also, If you know people from English or Marathi Wiki who are versed with bot creation process please let us know.
