Introduction

I, Abdullateef Sherwani son of Late Abdurrasheed Sherwani resident of Joga Bai, Okhla, New Delhi, male and aged 64 and former Professor of Indian Medieval History at Bihar University and former Conservative Assistant at the Sher Shah Suri Mausoleum complex at Sahasram, Bihar have been contributing since about six years in the Wikipedia with the username Lutfullah, commencing with my talk on Shaikh Bu Ali Qalandar Panipati.

I have passed with honours Bachelor of Arts from Patna University and after obtaining M Phil degree have obtained a Ph.D. degree from the Aligarh Muslim University under the guidance of my reverend teacher Late Professor Khaleeq Ahmad Nizami of the Aligarh Muslim University. I have been awarded a certificate of excellence in Persian calligraphy (Nastaleeq) by the Khaneh Farhang e Iran New Delhi as well as a certificate of mastery in Persian. I have learned Nastaleeq calligraphy up to a certain level of appreciable skill from my times India's master calligrapher in Persian and Urdu and a student of the legendary Raja Debi Dayal Zarreen Qalam of Lucknow, and a noted contributor to the Indian Islamic Epigraphy (Epigraphia Indo-Islamica series of the Institute of Archaeology), Late Ustad Maulavi Ehteramuddin 'Shaaghil' Jaipuri.

I have visited archaeological sites in Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Iran and attended seminars on Persian epigraphy at the University of Qum in Iran.
