About Me edit

My name is Larry Shea and I am guitar player from Milford, CT. I am currently studying music education at Berklee College of Music and plan to graduate in the spring of 2018.

Background edit

I became involved with music when I was around seven years old and picked up guitar lessons from my dad. I have been playing guitar for over 12 years now and in addition, have also played saxophone in my middle and high school band programs. I am studying at Berklee because I want to become a music teacher. I really admire being able to teach the next generation of youth about how powerful music is, and want as many of my students as possible to experience it the way I have and even better. At Berklee, I am very involved with my major as I serve as president of Berklee's NAfME (National Association for Music Education) collegiate chapter. This position allows me as a student to gain leadership skills and work with other classmates to develop as future music educators outside of our classes. In addition, I also work as an resident assistant for Berklee's dormitories and love being part of the resident community. I am excited to learn as much as I can at Berklee and hope to be a very inspiring and life-changing teacher one day!
