Leonid Zigmondovich Tell, MD, Ph.D was born in Kazakhstan, Atasy, on August 11, 1942. He graduated from Karaganda Medical Institute in 1965 with a degree in Medicine. He went on to receive his Doctorate Degree in 1983 and later earned Doctor of Academy of Medical Sciences. His dissertation topic was on the role of central nervous system in lung inflammation. His professional career included Full Professor position at the Astana Medical Institute and the Chair of the Department of Pathophysiology. From 1989 to 1994 he was the family doctor to the president of Kazakhstan. Currently, he is a Professor of the Department of Prophylactic Medicine and Research at Astana Medical Institute. Dr. Leonid Tell is on the editorial board for the international peer-reviewed Journal of Valeology: Health and Disease. In addition, he works in the following research institutions: Essence Natural Institute (ENI), Institute of Global Solutions (IGS), Institute of Education Development and Advance (EDA). Leonid Tell is a member of New York Academy of Sciences, American Physiological Society.
