"Largeman2" is the slightly embarrassing handle of Nathan Moore of Madison, Wisconsin. Nathan decided upon this username when he first created an Instant Messenger account at age 15. Somehow, for internet purposes, it stuck. The name was chosen because Nathan is 6'5" tall, though he has been asked about the origin of the name several times with raised eyebrow.
Since 2002, Nathan has mostly lived in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. He has worked in a variety of non-commercial radio jobs, including the News & Public Affairs Facilitator at WORT Community Radio, the National Programming Coordinator for the Pacifica Radio network, and currently the General Administrator for Free Speech Radio News.
Though Nathan currently works in media, his academic training is in cultural anthropology and sociology. He keeps this part of his brain dusted off by teaching part time at Madison Area Technical College.
Nathan is originally from West Virginia, and continues to be passionate about environmental injustice in his home state, as well as fighting hillbilly stereotypes. Though living in the Upper Midwest, he does what he can to spread the word about Mountaintop Removal and other issues. Nathan has made the (admittedly not very funny) joke that a thinking person growing up in Appalachia tends to become either a Gramscian or a fundamentalist. Nathan leans toward the former.
Nathan has a lovely wife named Lisa, who he married in August 2005. They have a cute daughter named Charlotte who was born in 2008.
