Current business edit

What needs to be done:

  • And DJ report for LTT Pure Trance https://img.discogs.com/YWLqQUTTOl75qCnEIF6mTlzkph8=/fit-in/600x856/filters:strip_icc():format(jpeg):mode_rgb():quality(90)/discogs-images/R-37802-1104642993.jpg.jpg ; might then be able to better use or give better context to the Record Mirror review [also mentions Chill Out]
  • reorder list/possible focus on one article (The KLF - or, just forget it; even if after days or weeks of work it got to FA again, it would degenerate or "they" would re-raise the bar and then its FAR again)/see if is now time for a break/move on to off-wiki duties
  • Justified & Ancient has some easy citation opportunities (AV media in places), and some sources on the talk page which would make for nice additions
  • If not already used, this ref from the LTTT article might be useful in career overviews or elsewhere Ewing, Tom (28 October 1999). "42. KLF – "Last Train To Transcentral"". Freaky Trigger. Retrieved 24 March 2020. (although it's arguably already used more an as career summary than a review of the song in LTTT, so may want to adjust tjhat if use in KLF too) Alsohttps://web.archive.org/web/20160916113500/http://www.libraryofmu.net/display-resource.php?id=445 possibly of use for career retros, if not already used and provided we don't already have too many positive reviews
  • Burning: the source https://web.archive.org/web/20160916111652/http://www.libraryofmu.net/display-resource.php?id=416 may be better used in that article and perhaps others as it includes some interesting reflections from Bill and Jimmy and interactions with various figures (some of whom may even be blue-linked)
  • K Foundation art award formatted all refs in the Context section, but then it gets difficult as there are lots of passims which should probably become inline citations
  • I saw in Jeff Jones (music industry executive) that there is a 'new' way of grouping all the refs together as named refs in a parameter to reflist, which would might make maintaining them much easier (as can just edit the references section). I wonder if there is a script modify to this format and if not how hard would it be to write one?: Pros, cons (harder to ADD a new ref, for example) and a script are at Help:List-defined references
  • If possible, dig out my copies of 45 and Disco 2000. The latter's article either contradicts or expands on FTM, with a mention of grinding down the Rollright Stones which would fit in nicely with their reported attempts to buy them. Also, either the same story is in 45 or Bill writes about writing it. Are there any news articles about B&J trying to buy the stones? [There is also a note at Talk:Justified & Ancient/to do about material being needed from 45, although it may be that other sources have told the same story]
  • Properly format references in the other remaining FAs:
    • All You Need Is Love: All references formatted. Not checked if there is anything which is unreferenced
    • 1987: All references formatted. Not checked if there is anything which is unreferenced
  • Expand lead of K Foundation art award
  • https://web.archive.org/web/20070827182704/http://www.libraryofmu.org/display-resource.php?id=549 (bluelinked author, bluelinked publication, ref name "Sandall-ads"; written after start of art awards ad campaign but before the Turner Prize/KF award, to which the author was a witness (double check this)) might be useful for an additional quote in K-Foundation or art award but I can't think how or if to work it in atm. Longer term edit

The KLF edit

  • At some point possibly reply on KLF talk and ask for help. Also:
    • Copyedit KLF, in particular the text about the 23 enigma and Illuminatus!. Are there better refs explaining how the JAMs are similar to the JAMMs? (possibly Higgs. Longer term - perhaps as holiday reading - I need to read this book and if it is useful, make notes and quotes with page numbers if don't have a computer with me, or cite in the relevant articles if I do) This article says Bill never finished reading Illuminatus; I think it is based on the Higgs book though
      • First impression after reading some pages: Clearly the author has read the wiki articles and/or the Library of Mu, but covers ground we don't and offers lots of opinion and commentary
    • Comparison between WikiProject approved version and current version of KLF
    • Besides the Higgs book, there is Fried & Justified: Hits, Myths, Break-Ups and Breakdowns in the Record Business 1978-9 (Bill wrote the foreward and Jimmy designedthe cover, which may be worth a sentence in their respective articles). I have already quoted this book without page numbers (because it is on Google Books but doesn't snow page numbers) in the following articles; if I get a copy I should go back and fill in the page numbers: Bill Butt, Shine So Hard, The KLF, Doctorin' the Tardis
    • And there is Turn up the Strobe
    • Consider GA nom and/or peer review of The KLF. Not sure which should come first. Need to read up on it and current processes. [Probably better to go for PR and FAC or neither; or don't put self through the torture at all]
  • Does the FA userbox have a field to display additional text at the end (i.e. twice)? :)

Other edit

  • Propose [probably after the site's promised revamp] Motorsport Mag db entries for driver, team, race and circuit at wikidata:Wikidata:Property_proposal/Sports? (Magazine founded 1924; arguably a better source than driverdb)
  • Johnny Sharp aka Johnny Cigarettes is probably worth an article (and is probably cited on Wikipedia numerous times but but not linked). Interesting source article to start with: https://www.theguardian.com/music/musicblog/2008/jan/08/musicalhackattacks
  • Article or userspace draft on Dr Cressida Bowyer? Can start it with material from Disco 2000 and Jimmy Cauty and add new material from recent news articles about her (trajectory: early years and Angels 1-5, KLF/Jimmy/Disco 2000, science career) Don't fall foul of WP:SPOUSE (and be sure Cress is actually notable before doing anything)
  • I've listed a few delisted GAs as salvageable. They'd need references formatted, citations added where there are none, and any failure points from last time addressed (and this all noted on the talk page)
  • Consider undeleting and salvaging (besides Google, probably there are sources in the linked articles): In the City (festival). Should be an article, but would need some more references and obviously indicate important so that A7 does not apply (also, on what years was it held?) RAHaworth gave a blanket permission for festival articles speedily deleted at the time to be undeleted, at Wikipedia_talk:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion/Archive_53#Speedy_deletion_of_articles_about_music_and_film_festivals at 22:47, 7 June 2014 (UTC) [quote link and date/time if/when undelete] There's probably also plenty of other articles which mention the event but don't link to it (or link to a deleted red link :/)
  • K Foundation Burn a Million Quid from GA to FA? ...because it's a fascinating article [on the other hand, since Vinoir's retirement I no longer have a fabulous writing partner to bounce ideas off and share the workload with]
    • Review article and citations. Ask Sandy Georgia if she thinks it's already ready for FAR? Or maybe ask WP FILMs or a modern arts project if they would be interested in getting K Foundation Burn... to FA? (tell them I can help in an advisory role but as WP:KLF is now a one-man band and The KLF article was demoted and there are other FAs to save I'm spread too thin to do it myself [ping on reply of if help is needed].
    • There is an interesting documentary series on YouTube link to episode 2 (ep 1 is missing at the time of writing). It is fan-made so can't be cited, but would be worth watching again with a studious eye rather than for entertainment, and if anything we don't cover adequately comes up, track down and cite the original source.

Possible Talk KLF reply edit

{{ping|John}} (or anyone else) If you come back, please ping me and maybe we can work together. Whilst my head has been saying "no", the heart says I'd like to see this cleaned up. In my humble opinion that needs at least 2 people. If you're not a fan, more the better. Whether or not to remove content is something which really needs to be bounced off a collaborator rather than done unilaterally. In the meantime, I've done some copy-editing, brought the article up to date with coverage of the 2017 return of The JAMs, removed a little cruft, and probably added some too. I think the 2017 section is perhaps too long but doesn't warrant a separate article other than about the book (I won't be doing one anyway). --~~~~

-- before send this, I want to compare FA version with current; also I should bear in mind that the Bill reviews were in the FA version (doesn't mean they shouldn't go of course)
