I am a South African woman living in Johannesburg South Africa. I am an avid Wikipedia user but as yet have not made any edits apart from taking part in a Heritage Day sprint a couple of years ago where we uploaded people's personal heritage memories to Wikimedia Commons.
I work for local non profit organisation The African Commons Project which has the mandate of turning local communities into active participants in the digital economy, through openness, collaboration and sharing. We do this through advocacy, training and other longer projects. Wikipedia is one of the tools that we believe in and support as well as Creative Commons.
