Final MVC Project edit
I'm Katie and I'm taking part in the CTEC2902 Advanced Programming module at De Montfort University.
For this project I have taken on the role of the Project Manager. The two other member of my team, Hamzah and Sam have taken on the developer and tester roles, which is more coding based.
My role is important for this project because I will do a lot of the planning and design for the program we produce. Whatever my team program will be designed by me first. This is an important role because it really gives the other members of the team a guideline as to what they should be doing.
The website we are creating is a film review site. We all chose this topic together because it's something we're all passionate about, and we feel like it's really something we could enjoy doing as a group because it's interesting for all of us.
My Role (Project Manager) edit
My role as a project manager is to design the interface for our film review site, this meaning everything visually. I really enjoy this aspect of the role because I love to be creative and make things enjoyable for the user to look at.
Another main aspect of this role is to create the diagrams such as class diagrams for the testers and developers to use to make the code for the website. They would follow the diagrams to know what classes were needed, then they would go on to code them.
I feel like this role is good for me because I'm not very good at the coding aspect of making programs. This doesn't mean I'll be doing none of it, because I'm still going to contribute to the coding, just not as much as the other members of my team. I feel like doing little bits of the code whilst watching what the other team members come up with will vastly improve my coding knowledge.
Overall I think with all the roles being sorted out the way they are, we can as a group come up with a really nice and exciting film review site.
