Taintstick is an American hard rock band, signed to Suburban Noize records [1][2] Their self-titled album will be released in September 2009.

History

edit

Taintstick (also known as "Tony Hawk's Taintstick") was formed in 2007 by skateboarder and radio personality Jason "The Future" Ellis, along with Michael "Cowfucker" Tully, and Christian "Shoebox" Hand. In 2008, Josh "Raw Dog" Richmond would join the group, though his musical contributions are nebulous. As of August 2007, their video for debut single "Apple Juice", featuring celebrities Tony Hawk, Rob Dyrdek, Jason "Mayhem" Miller and Heidi Cortez, has over 100,000 views on Youtube. [3]

To date, the band has played one live show, in Fall 2008, at the club "Wasted Space" in the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. [4] No other shows are currently scheduled. Taintstick's music is regularly featured on SIRIUS XM radio's "Faction" channel, which has also broadcast extended programs featuring interviews with band members, and behind-the-scenes looks at the making of their album. [5]

Music

edit

Taintstick's music is often obscene, and tends to be satirical. Many of their songs, such as "A6K" and "Motodick", use Ellis's favorite vehicles as their subject matter. Others, such as "Handjob" and "Load", are taken from Ellis's life. The music often parodies other popular rock bands, such as "Apple Juice", lyrically and musically a swipe at Blink-182.
