Welcome! I am a Mesoamerican/Maya scholar (Ph.D., Yale, 1999). I studied under Michael Coe and Mary Miller, and Mike was my thesis advisor. My thesis was on Kaminaljuyu. Since 2003 I have directed the Proyecto Arqueologico Chocola (www.chocolaproject.org). These investigations are a direct product of my thesis work and continue a focus on the Southern Maya area in the Preclassic Period (1800 BC-AD 200), looking at the antecedents of Classic Maya civilization, still a big mystery for scholarship.
