Hello!

I feel like stating who I am in real life conflicts with my day job and with some of my side projects, so I'm not going to say that blatantly here. I have a feeling I'll be outed soon enough, though.

I used to be involved in the Boston area Wikipedia Meetup Group and helped plan Wikimania 2006.

I don't do much editing, but I once did a lot of behind the scenes work on Wikipedia and some of the other Wikimedia projects. I've done a lot of bridge building between the projects and some of my colleagues interested in the efforts. I've done some marketing. I promoted the Boston area group quite a bit, too. If all of those actions counted as edits, I'd surely have more than 1,000. (If I string together all of the edits I've done via various IP addresses, maybe I'd have 1,000 ...)

It's difficult to believe sometimes that it's been more a while since attending my first Wikipedia meeting and getting to meet Jimbo Wales for the first time. At the beginning, I was quickly dismissed as someone being there only because a friend was there (which he wasn't at the time, adding to the humor of the notion) and not someone who had any interest in the project. At the end, several of us chatted late into the night about various things, promising to keep in touch and bump into each other online.

I have way too many side projects to have the time to devote lots of hours and effort to the Wikimedia Foundation, so you probably won't see me much. Feel free to drop me a line in any case.
