I am a researcher and writer living in the Midwest. I have a PhD in psychology, and a strong interest in human motivation, its causes and effects. Motivation effects essentially all areas of human endeavor, leading me to write on a wide range of topics. For example, I have written an (as-yet unpublished) biography of the singer Michael Jackson, whose motivations were mysterious.

I also am interested in the motivations that cause people to favor different forms of government, with a particular interest in differences between Westerners' goals for their government and Chinese people's goals.

My interest in motivation has led me to also focus on body weight. I have been published in the New England Journal of Medicine, where I noted evidence that weight is determined by biology, not behavior.

I am middle-aged, female and happily married. JSaraya (talk) 23:33, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
