It eventually dawned on me that I could be more useful to Wikipedia without the baggage of my real-world identity, so I started over with a user account under a pseudonym. Ideally, I would {{retire}} this account. However, under the pseudonym I stay away from certain articles that are closely associated with either this account or my real-world identity; and I find that I'm not willing to renege on my obligations to those articles; so I use this account for them, which so far has meant a handful of edits per year.
