Ingo Karkat (born April 20, 1976 in Germany) is a software developer. He started programming at the age of 12 on the Commodore 64 home computer, then studied Information technology at the university of cooperative education in Stuttgart. He received a Diplom as Diplom-Ingenieur (Berufsakademie) Informationstechnik in the field of network technology and multimedia in October 1999, and has been working as a software development engineer at one of the largest international technology companies since then. Ingo has been active in the open source community since 2002, contributing to various projects as well as publishing some of his own tools and projects.
Ingo Karkat is married and has a daughter.
