Gopinathpur is a village in Kasba Thana, Brahmanbaria District, Bangladesh. It is the last village of Kasba near to Akhaura. The villages that surround Gopinathpur are West Nemtqabad, East Bari Jogunatthpur, South Horiabohu Chandider, North Miondhu, and Noyamora.there is a lake surrounding our village called the SARISHER DOLI BILL it is our heritage. it is great opportunity for me to live in the bank of the SARISHER DOLI BILL. this article updated and written by EMON. History The most reliable history is that during the ancient period, there were two brothers named Gopinath and Jogunnath. They divided the lands of their father into two parts; the majority of the land was given to Gopinath. The rest of the land was given to Jogunnath.the name of Gopinathpur after one Holy saint HAZRAT IMAM SHAH(R). Once the ruler of the Tripura went to Tripura to his palace in that time a heavy storm occurred then and then he took shelter under a banyan tree. interesting matter is that in the surrounding of the tree there were no rain or storm. he was astonished when see that the matter. he asked to his followers what is the miracle. the followers collected information from the locals. the local people informed the followers that under the tree had one saint grave named HAZRAT IMAM SHAH(R) the king nominated a person to nature that place and the land of that respected place, his name was gopinath , from that time the name of our village called Gopinathpur. Another name of our village is ≤Imam Bari≥ name after the saint HAZRAT IMAM SHAH(R) INSTITUTIONS i have in confusion haw can i write down the description of my village, in which point i will start. ok no problem i starting from my school. The name of the primary school is" GOPINATHPUR BATSHALA SARKARY PRATHOMIK BIDDYALOY. IT IS THE ancient primary school established 1940s. i studied this school. it was glorious history BUT decreasing ratio. however we are very proud about my primary school. in 1996 i was the student of class one.in 2000 i was off from this school with good result. ALHAMDHULILLAH.
1.GOPINATHPUR SHAHEED BABUL HIGH SCHOOL====,' LOTS of great student studied in this school, i am also. established before liberation war. in the time of liberation lots of great heroes had lot their life. contribution of the great heroes in Liberation war1971 will narrate later. in the time of liberation war one young boys who studied class ten had lost his life.named BABUL CHOWDHURY. After liberation war People decided that they will start a new high school calledGOPINATHPUR SHAHEED BABUL HIGH SCHOOL. in 2006 i left this school with a maximum result. forwarded to college to Dhaka University. 2. College==== GOPINATHPUR ALHAJ SHAH ALAM DEGREE COLLEGE name after a local MP SHAH ALAM. HE IS a generous man as far i know. last time in 2010 we met in TSC, dhaka University campus. Established in 1997 our central playground . have several multi stored buildings with natural environment. there were some resident near college but increasing ratio. one interesting thing is that we have lots of population most of are not original from Gopinathpur. in 2008 i left with maximum result.
3. Other major Institutions 3.1 Gopinathpur Darul Ulam Islamia Madrasha==== Single effort of Honorable Maulana Mosharrouf Khan before 1960s. it is near to our high school. Beside the gopinathpur hospital. 3.2 Gopinathpur BORO Mosjid==== One benevolent women named Late Atikunnessa BiBi initiated to established a mosque on the bank of Big Pond south part of Gopinathpur in 1889. 3.3Gopinathpur Dakhil Madrasha==== Another Islamic Institutions established by Local MP named DR. Mosfiqur Rahim. It is improving day by day. It is far away from Gopinathpur Bazar near to our New Bazar. 3.4Gopinathpur Orphanage Another benevolent purposes organization with a single effort in 1990s near to our local bazaar. This organization has great reputation. 3.5 Gopnathpur samaj kollyan porishad==== It was our pride but because of some vicious circle it is now loosing its gloriousness. It was the organization that controlled the village once. But now- a- days people has no trust in this organization. The criminals are looted all funds with vicious effort. Shareholders are not aware of this porishod. We have great memories about this porishod when annual meeting was occurred. we have seen my father went to the market to cast his vote to nominate a president and also vice- president.
3.6 Malek Jobeda Foundation====
By one industrialist named Hasan Azad Badal, son of great congress leader Late Sayek Siddik Abdul Malek. He established this NGO in our village to serve the poor people. I have seen that this NGO working not only in our village but also other villages near to our village.
3.7 Imam Bari kindergarten ====
I was not student this institution but some of my friends read this. They said to me that it is good. My be that was public proverb. Carry on to nurse students.
3.8 Malek Jobeda kindergarten====
By MR. Hasan Azad badal. It is good, if good so carry on from my viewpoint. Lots of struggle lying to run a organization same to Malek Jobeda kindergarten.
3.9 Green Health Hospital==== Lots of rumor from different sides about this hospital, some are favor to hospital and some are against to the hospital. As people of the gopinathpur village or as a citizen of Bangladeshi I have observed that we do not want better for ourselves also for others. Some people get pleasure to see the grief of others. In English proverb one simple Word ‘’SCHADENFREUDE ‘’. However in 2008 all villagers requested to the Great Industrialist Mr. Hasan Azad Badal to set up one hospital to the villagers. I presented that meeting, I had seen Mr.Azad agreed to set up one hospital named ‘’malek jobeda general Hospital’’ later it is the green health hospital. It is our pride, we always take pride for this hospital. To set up the hospital our local Chairman Late Mr. koddusor Reza worked hard. It is 7 stored skyscraper large building. 24 hours service has also the emergency services. Ambulance services also present. Situated in our local bazaar, very easy communication our Thana to Village. Both Bus and Train services are available to reach our Hospital. In my viewpoint all charges to medical checkup should lower for the villagers. Because villagers was agreed to impart land to set up the hospital. Some land owned Gopinathpur Samaj Kallyan Parishod. Rest of the by my friend’s inherent land. Special thanks to MR. Azad and your family members to take such a big initiative, I always take pride as a kin to you. Carry on to serve people, almighty gives you a big opportunity to become a great person, without any doubt you are great one.
4. HISTORICAL PLACES 4.1. EID GHAH=== Remote part of our village EID GHAH is situated. Established in 1820s southern part of Gopinathpur. It is one of the finest and largest at the same time natural Eid Ghah. In is also called Darul Aman EID GHAH. Once more than 20 villagers took part their EID prayer in this EID GHAH. Now it is decreasing Ratio. It is matter of sorrow that in our village there are three Eid Ghah. It is very shameful at the same time, why shameful because it indicates that as villagers we have no unity? Whatever!!!!,,, we feel proud for our Eid Ghah. We have lot of memories Darul Aman Eid Ghah, in our childhood we wanted to go EID Ghah for two purposes. One is to complete prayer another is to take part MELA near to EID Ghah. Today I remember one issue that lots of people crowded in EID Ghah to complete prayer, but area is limited so the people who attended at last they finished their prayer in the Road. I along with my father finished several times completed in the road also in the field. Present situation is different because in our village there are three EID Ghah so least people in prayer field rest of field vacant. One interesting matter is that the IMAM who lead the EID prayer in our EID GHAH does it inherently by inherent.
4.2. Karimbug Graveyard===
It is one of the largest Graveyard ever I seen. I have completed my BBA and MBA from Dhaka University I seen the Azimpur Graveyard very closely, Karimbug Graveyard larger than Azimpur. The total areas of the graveyard look like a small village. Lots of my kith and kin are lying this Graveyard. Congress leader late Abdul Malek’s grave also in this graveyard.
4.3. Sarisher Doli Bill==== Why sharisher doli bill is the name? I know several myths. One of the acceptable is that some farmers transport there mustard seed with boat across the Bill. But in the middle of the of the Bill the boat sunk. From that time the farmers called it the sarisher Doli Bill. Others myth absent from my narration. This one is our heritage because from one starting point our village to another starting point Sarisher Doli Bill covers. Fishes of Sarisher Doli Bill delicious than others also from pond. This Sarisher Doli Bill abundant with fishes. Several people depend on Sarisher Doli Bill to earn their earnings. Fields are fertile abundant with silt. So crops grown easily. This is the Rahmat of ALLAh. In the monsoon the Sarisher Doli Bill abundant with water. Some people carry boat to transport. Remote villagers use Sarisher Doli Bill for transportation their fruits, vegetables and other daily necessary to buy and sell in our local market. In Sarisher Doli Bill our community people set up big net to capture fishes. We are also a member of the community. Big net with large boat use to catch fishes. In the dry season we also catch fishes using whip. My father is one of the experienced one to catch fish using whip.
4.4. Imambari Mazar==== Named after Great saint Hazrat Imam shah(R) , is situated one of the top place near to our college. There is small mosque with natural environment.
4.5. Imambari Playground====
Imambari playground also called college field, we have played day long with my classmate also with our seniors, juniors’. Football was favorite now cricket taking place the popularity. Lots of big tournament held this playground. Many national players played Imambari Playground.
4.6. Kakrar Bill==== Near to green health hospital, once there were no resident near to the Kakrar Bill. Today lots of resident at the same time some shops are built. Interesting matter is that in Kakrar Bill there are less kakra(crabs). It is forecast that in the near future Kakrar Bill will disappear but only name will carry by name from people to people.
4.7. Sinay Nadi(Sinay River)===== In our areas Jinuk are called sinay. Sinay nadi comes from our neighbor country India. Sinay nadi situated south part of our village end Darul Aman Eid Ghah. Lots of fishes abundant sinay nadi with decreasing rate. We use to communication purpose in the monsoon reason to go remote villages where our relatives live. Now it is impossible to river journey with this river because there are no engine run boat available.
