Shri Om Prakash Singh is an Indian Police Service officer of the 1992 batch. He is presently posted as Special Officer to CM (SOCM) Haryana in the rank of Additional Director General of Police. He has distinguished himself as an efficient law enforcement officer, an able sports administrator, a prolific writer and a mesmerizing speaker. He is currently living in Chandigarh with his family. He was born on January 1, 1966.

EDUCATION Shri O P Singh has done BA (Hons) in Psychology in 1984-87 from KKM College Bhagalpur University, now known as Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University.

CAREER For over 25 years in civil service by now, Singh has distinguished himself as an efficient law enforcement officer, an able sports administrator, a prolific writer and a mesmerizing speaker. He has served five-time as district police chief, twice as Inspector General of Police in range and once as Police Commissioner. Additionally, he has contributed successfully as Deputy Director of Enforcement Directorate (2003-7) and Haryana Sports Director (2008-12).

He has served as SP in five districts, as Police Commissioner of Ambala-Panchkula and Inspector General of Rewari and Hisar Range police.

He played a key role in Rules of Prevention of Money Laundering Act during his four-year stint from 2004-7 in Union Finance Ministry. He is credited with having registered and investigated the case under India’s anti-money laundering law.

As Haryana’s iconic Sports Director from 2008-12, he devised PIE (Participation, Inclusion & Excellence) Model of sports promotion and earned for the state a global recognition as a sporting powerhouse. His SPAT Sports Scholarship Program under ‘Play for India’ campaign line attracted over a million children to playgrounds across the state of Haryana

His book ‘Say Yes to Sports’ was hailed by Shashi Tharoor as ‘a remarkable book that can revolutionize school sports across the country’.

His another critically acclaimed book ‘Hauslanama’ is slated for April 25 release.
