OSHIDUTE COMBINED SCHOOL

SCHOOL HISTORY edit

School was founded in 12 February 1976 in oshidute village,Ohakafiya circuit, Ohangwena region,Namibia. It was founded to help children around Oshidute village who were not educated during colonial time in Namibia was under South Africa's colonisation. The school accommodates learners from the 1st grade to the 10th.the school is close to bounder between Angola and Namibia The first and founder principal is Mrs Lucina shikukumwa .When school founded it was only 30 learners which was major problems when its come to school provided with school material such as book,chairs,tables and pen .^[1]

Oshidute combined school is one of the best school in circuit which make it much popular to majority of people in ohangwena region .and over the past years when it wasin Eenhana circuit was also one of the best school in the circuit.

LEARNING FACILITIES edit

School has library which provide learners with extra information such as book ,computer literacy,and many other services which are needed by children in rural area .the school had some few computers which were donated by an organisation from the U.S.A which are used by teachers and learners to do their school work.

SCHOOL PROJECT edit

School has two project for life sciences and agricuiture which are some of subject for junior phase.Life science project is for growing crps which can be sold to community so that school project can earn income .

SPORT FACILITIES edit

school has three sport fields volleyball ,soccer fields and netball field .^[2]

PRINCIPAL edit

The current principal is Mrs Naemi Vatileni .Mrs Vatileni was HOD before she become principal in mid of 2004 . Mrs Naemi Vatileni is married to Mr Matatias Vatileni and have seven children together, namely Heikkie Vatileni, Amon Vatileni, Mekondjo Vatileni, Frieda Vatileni, Victoria Vatileni, Meameno Vatileni and Lucia Vatileni. Mrs Naemi has done alot of community work in her area and has also adopted a few children from relatives and has made them her own. She continues to be an inspiration for many as she has humbled many people in her life. She lives her life travelling between the North and south of the country during holidays as her immediate family are located in the southern town of Oranjemund, where here husband has worked as a boilermaker since 1979. Mrs Naemi Vatileni, continues to be the principal of Oshidute Combined school to date, with the love of acknowledging and teaching children, she has no intentions of quiting her teaching profession.

LEARNERS edit

There use to be at least 300 learners at school each year at school and majority of learners are from low income family and its make it difficult for many learners to have all school needs such as school unform ,book and even pencil some parents they cant provide because they cant afford or they dont know their duty .

TEACHERS edit

There are eleven teachers who teach different subjects.Some of teachers have some extra duty such as forsoccer,netball,athletics, and library duty .Teachers are from different department which are social science,languages and sciences

SUBJECT OFFERED BY SCHOOL edit

School offer different subject in three different phase in which learners have many opportunity to go for their dream carrer such as Engineers,Teachers,Technicians,Doctors,Nurse,Programmer ,Mechanics,Lecturer, Accountant and many others carrer . ^[3]
