HISTORICAL edit

Manuel Luis Molina Quezon was considered "bright but lazy", but when Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo started a revolution against the Spaniards, he shows how fierce and bold he is in order to fight for the freedom of his country. After the imprisonment he faced from the Americans for about six months in the year 1899, Quezon returned in Manila. He passed the bar examination in 1903 and set up practice in Baler. In 1906 he was elected provincial governor. His campaign showed his native political knowledge once he sided with standard problems in a very somewhat opportunist manner. Often he abandoned consistency for the sake of pursuing what to his enemies was nothing but plain demagoguery.
Quezon ran successfully as candidate for the Philippine Assembly on the Nacionalista party platform in 1907. In the Assembly he was electoral legislator. He served as representative in Washington, D. C. (1909-1916), wherever he became ill-famed as a romantic dancer, hedonist diplomat, and shrewd inducer. He was instrumental in having a law revised in order that Filipinos would type a majority within the Philippine Commission, the very best brass within the Philippines. In February 1916 he cosponsored the Jones Act, that gave the Filipinos the ability to ordain for themselves subject to veto by the yank governor. With this act, Quezon came home a hero.

CULTURAL edit

"I have an abiding faith in our people . I know that they have all the faculties needed to become a powerful and enlightened nation." Philippines nowadays can not hide the fact that they are already left behind by other countries. When it comes to economy[1], literacy rate[2], job offers[3], health care and all the aspects that run on a country. Poverty, scarcity and lack of education most especially to the Filipinos who are not able to attend school because of their own principles, or they don't have enough salary is not an issue that is new to Quezon's country. But as he speak up for his land, that he believes that this is not the end for changes, it can turn into a powerful country, only if his countrymen would act to achieve it.The success of a country depend on the people who are in it. Even if they have all the materials, if they dont have the knowledge on how to used it will going to be useless.

Manuel Quezon's stands here is that, Filipinos must change their way of living. It is not about neglecting our culture, but to accept that the world is changing so the way of thinking must also change in order to keep it up with the changes of the world, to become globally competitive.

” We must revive them for we, need the anchorage of these traditions to guide and sustain us in the proper discharged of our political and social obligations.”

POLITICAL edit

“His sense of righteousnes is often dulled by the desire of personal gain . His norm conduct is generally prompted by expediency rather than by principle . He shows a failing in that superb courage which impels action because it is right even at the cost of self sacrifice.”

Quezon was not a president who is greedy and boastful of his power. As long as possible, he wants to used his title as the president to influence his countrymen. “National strength can only be built on character. A nation is nothing more nor less than its citizenry.” He want to be an inspiration during his time and encouraged the Filipinos. If they just only knew, how rich their country is, not just in natural resources, but its tradition and culture makes it more shine from other countries.
