Bocconi School of Law Student-Edited Papers is a student-edited working paper series which publishes legal scholarly works.[1] It is issued by a student group at Bocconi University School of Law, under the supervision of several faculty advisors.[2]

Format edit

The notability of this project is tied to its format as a working paper series, of which it constitutes the first example in the field of student-run legal publications.[3] This format has been argued to be more in tune with the academic and editorial background of European legal scholarly publishing, which is largely dominated by peer-reviewed journals.[3] In this perspective, the idea behind this working paper series is to create an additional level of feedback prior to final publication in a journal run by academics,[4] thereby allowing synergies with existing journals and facilitating the integration of student-run publications in the European academic and editorial context. [3]

History edit

Bocconi School of Law Student-Edited Papers was initially created in march 2008 by founding editor Luigi Russi,[5] under the name Italian Legal Scholarship Unbound Working Paper Series.[2] The name was later changed when the publication's affiliation with Bocconi University School of Law became official.[6] The series's first Editor-in-Chief under its present name was Matteo Mattioni,[5] whereas the recently appointed Anna Salvo (2009) was the first woman.[2] Among the more renowned scholars to have published with Bocconi School of Law Student-Edited Papers are Jagdeep Bhandari, Giovanni Iudica and Ugo Mattei. Bocconi School of Law Student-Edited Papers has also released, under a Creative Commons license, a citation manual for Italian legal sources, authored by a former editor. [7]
