I am a participant in the 2019 Women in STEM Edit-A-Thon, held at the Gerstein Science Information Centre at the University of Toronto in celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The United Nations General Assembly adopted the occasion as a "reminder that women and girls play a critical role in science and technology communities and that their participation should be strengthened."[1] My academic training is in physics.
