Professional Career

Glenn Lawyer earned a masters in compuer science/computer engineering at Sweden's Royal Instititue of Technology in 2001, specializing in autonomous systems. During his Ph.D., he researched brain structural abnormalities in schizophrenia and in amphetamine dependence, as part of the HUBIN projet. HUBIN (Human Brain Informatics) is a joint project between Karolinska University and the University of Olso.

After completing his Ph.D. in 2006, Dr. Lawyer began researching viral evolution at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, with a focus on HIV-1. His current work investigates relationships between network structure, disease transmission, and genetic signatures of transmission.
