I am a microbiologist and academic with various other random interests in family history.
From September 2015 I am helping the Microbiology Society (for which I have been a member for nearly 20 years) to migrate from its old name of the Society for General Microbiology and keep the sites for its journal Microbiology up to date.
Working on the Royal Society Wikipedia edit for female scientists and more recently for the MRC event in July 2013 and have worked on
- Marjory Stephenson - one of my microbiological heroes
- Agnes Ibbetson - a very distant relative of my wife...
- Hilary Lappin-Scott - fellow microbiologist and only the 2nd female President of SGM after Marjory Stephenson!
