Weekend Revolutionaries is the Euro house project of an anonymous musician/producer from Coffs Harbour, Australia. The musical influences of the project include Delorean, M83, New Order, Washed Out and Cut Copy. Weekend Revolutionaries currently operates without record label backing, releasing music through online distribution services TuneCore and Bandcamp.

The first recordings were made in 2006, with the project taking on the actual Weekend Revolutionaries name in April 2008 [1] in Coffs Harbour, Australia. Weekend Revolutionaries have declined to play live concerts on a number of occasions, preferring instead to be an entirely studio-based band.
Recording Activity edit
Weekend Revolutionaries recorded their first material in February 2006, but the first official record, 'Coastal Mentality', was released in December 2009. Weekend Revolutionaries were offered to tour northern New South Wales with another unsigned band, MTTNS, but declined.
The period between April 2009 and December 2009 saw Weekend Revolutionaries explore a more synth-pop oriented sound, epitomised by tracks such as 'Lucid Experience', 'Haze' and 'Dreams Run Dry'. The first album, 'Coastal Mentality', was originally released in December 2009, and was then reissued in 2010 [2]. The following day after the reissue was announced, the release information for the album's first single, 'Haze', was revealed.[3][4]
Coastal Mentality was the first of Weekend Revolutionaries' official records, a series of instrumental concept albums. This was followed by the 16 track, 80 minute opus, Post-Seachange, which contained the singles 'Last Journey' and 'Different Island', in July 2010.[5] The album expanded on the styles of the debut and represented a significant development in terms of both sound and arrangement.
Continuing a productive 2010, the dark, dubstep-influenced concept album Surveillance was released in October.[6] The record explored sounds and styles previously unheard in the Weekend Revolutionaries discography, and was made up of 5 sprawling, 10-minute plus epic suites that told a story of isolation and escapism without the use of lyrics, portraying events in the protagonist's journey through vivid soundscapes and 'musique concrète' elements. December 2010 saw the release of the 5 track EP Summer Forever[7], which returned a similar sound to that of Post-Seachange. The EP was well received by the public, outselling any of the previous full length albums.
No new Weekend Revolutionaries music was released between December 2010 and July 2011, as he worked on the 4th LP Movement.[8] Movement was released on July 4, 2011, and exhibited elements of Balearic beat, 'Madchester' rave music, French house, Italo disco and chillwave.
