Bunnies almost certainly can't understand references either.[2] However, they can dance.[2]
They should probably all have a look at "Wikipedia's guide to Referencing for Beginners" and "Wikipedia's guide to Citing Sources".
Anthropomorphic animals might also struggle with links. Genetically modified ones are also notoriously bad at markup.
