Rachel Ankeny is a historian and philosopher focused on the biological sciences. Her interests also expand to biotethics, food studies, migration, public engagement in science, and science policy. Her research focuses on scientific models, case-based reasoning, model organisms, the philosophy of medicine, and the history of life sciences. In 2020, she has been elected a fellow in the Section on History and Philosophy of Science of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) "for her contributions to our understanding of the foundational roles that organisms play in biological research and her leadership in history and philosophy of science."^[1]
