Aw, Buddy. Buddy was dropped off somewhere around my neighborhood with a broken and useless left hind leg. He could and did use it to balance and stand on, the paw was inverted which caused it to have a open ware spot from trying to walk on it (as you can see in the image in the gallery).

Buddy was roaming my neighborhood for about a month, a Highway Patrol officer and I tried to corral him once, but even with only three good legs, he was pretty quick and gave me a pretty serious growl.

I seen him roaming around, but he wouldn't let me get close. One day I saw him on the next block from my home, I ran back to my house a grabbed some dog treats (I also had other dogs at the time) and walked about halfway to the next block and threw the treats in the middle of the street (luckily very little traffic in my neighborhood) and then backed off and watched, a few minutes later he came back and ate the treats.

This was all happening in November-December of 2017, so I made a shelter (shown below) out of a few wooden pallets, covered it with a tarp, throw in some straw for comfort and warmth. I never saw him in the shelter, but there was an indent in the straw towards the back, showing he did use it at least once. The shelter was only there about 3 or 4 days before he would walk up to me, once that happened I clipped a leash on his collar, had no trouble walking him stright to the house.

We got Daisy from the shelter. We knew right away, she was the one.
