Several major UK orchestras are based in London, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. The city is also home to various choirs and chamber orchestras, such as the English Chamber Orchestra, London Sinfonietta and Academy of St Martin in the Fields.[1]

Major venues for musical performances in London include the Barbican Centre and Southbank Centre. The Barbican is the largest art performing arts centre in western Europe and houses the London Symphony.[1]
